The ultimate Nintendo battle

User Rating: 9.2 | Super Smash Bros. Melee GC
This is truley the most epic Nintendo game for the GC. Imagine this...Link vs. Samus, Mario vs. Fox, Zelda vs. Peach, and a whole lot more. First, the Single Player mode. The character list starts out at 14 of Nintendo's top characters. 1st up, Regular Classic. This mode plays out like the first one did, with match up after match up until the final boss, Master hand. In between every few levels there are minigames like break the targets and Race to the Finish. Simple enough. After you've beaten this mode, you recieve a trophy, a cool credits mini-game, and a short ending movie.

My personal favorite mode would have to be Adventure. In this awesome mode, you go through one level for each character. Mario's level is like the Super Mario games, complete with goombas and koopas. Samus' level is a battle with the famous bounty hunter herself, then escaping from the level, Metroid style. There is another mode, but it is an unlockable, so I don't wanna spoil the secret, altough it's not very exciting.

Next up, event mode. Event mode levels range from a traditional pokemone battle, to battling on top of a giant trophy. Yay. Stadium is actually the home to 2 secret levels and one secret character, though they aren't easy. Training is self explanitory. I hope. If you don't know what training mode is, you haven't played enough games. Really, is this your 1st game? HUH!?

Back to the topic. Versus mode is the awesomness. You battle with friends or bots in Melee, have a...well...tournament in tournament mode, and have fun with the crrrrazy modes in Special Melee.

Now, if you've been playing AT ALL you should have unlocked some trophys. The trophys are beutifully rendered characters and objects of things from past Nintendo games. With each trophy comes a short explanation of what it is.

There are many secrets in this game, each well worth finding. If you look hard enough you may just find 3 secret N64 levels...well, lookings not the problem, FIGHTING WIRE FRAMES FOR FREAKIN' 15 MINUTES IS. Thank you for your time.
