If you want the best two player game ever, look no further than Timesplitter 2. The Timesplitters franchise hit the hammer right on the nail on its series of shoot-em up games. I instantly got hooked on Timesplitters 1 because all around it was one of the best games I have ever played, Timesplitters 2 takes the cake for being even better. What makes it so excellent is the different modes you can play. It offers a unique 1 player and even 2 player mode. If your like me you like to play games with a buddy, but not always against him or her. It's nice to work as a team and that's what makes this game so great because you have co-op story mode. And if you get tired of that you can play against your buddy. The fun factor of Timesplitters 2 is endless. The graphics are much better than TS 1. Some of the things I did not like is the selection of weapons, there aren't too many to choose from in story mode. The objectives are also at times confusing like in the first story mode stage it says blow up the communication tower and it took me and my team mate forever to figure out where it was at. I felt the GPS navigator device in the game, should have allowed for you to track objectives, instead of wondering what the hell you missed. But its sole purpose is to tell you where the villians and your friend is at, good but not sure if it's needed for just that purpose. One of the coolest things about TS 1 is that you would capture the briefcase and then it turns into a completely different world with goblins or aliens, and now you have to fight your way through them. I thought that was classic. Unfortunately TS 2 did not incorperate that, it's basically mission modes, and you don't change realms, still fun, but a different kind of fun. Also I hate the fact that you have to either play a male or female, you should be able to choose different characters in 2 player story mode as you would like. One of the worst things about the game is trying to differentiate yourself from the enemy plenty of times I found myself trying to kill my team mate or vice versa, because his clothing was almost the same as the enemy. I feel the characters should have some kind of way to identify them perhaps orange clothes even, or maybe there is a non-friendly fire mode, I haven't found yet, oh well. A shortage of levels, I felt 10 levels wasn't enough and had me craving for more. At least there is a cool option to customize your own levels, but it seems too time consuming for even the likes of me to want to undertake. There is not too much to complain about this game. It is by far one of the best two player games I have ever played, and just that alone makes it ahead of the pack, not to mention other things it has to offer. I cannot wait until the third addition arrives.
