Super Smash Bros. Melee was and still is one of the greatest free-for-all fighting games of all time.
Graphics: When this video game was made (2001) PlayStation games still looked great, and even the portables. Being the year it was, and the fact that this is one of the first GameCube games, the graphics were amazing. The graphics on most systems contained blocky models, and very bright lights. SSBM pretty much turned that around, by making the models smooth, the lights prefect, and the interface pretty amazing, which made he game look amazing. Even now the graphics aren't bothering.
Sound: The music in this game is great. The main theme is even great, and I often find myself leaving the controller still just to listen to it. Not only that, most stages had remixed music of original Nintendo theme songs, which would usually make you want to dance. The sound effects were great too.
Story: There isn't much of a story, but it's a fighting game! The greatest Nintendo characters clash into battle!
Gameplay: Where to start... This game has the most addictive gameplay ever. Each character has their own moves and combos. You can go in a brawl with four characters and battle in fast-paced action. Not only that, items in the stages make it even more fun.
Overall Super Smash Bros. Melee is one of the most fun and polished fighting games ever. If you haven't played it yet, shame on you, and at least rent it!
