I know very very few people who own a Gamecube and have never played this game before. Like the 9 rating describes, it is superb. Although it follows the original Super Smash Bros on the Nintendo 64, this sequel still stands to be my favorite. It features so many beloved characters from Mario to Link to Kirby, and beautiful battlefields for matches.
I do enjoy how there is a lot to do with 1P as well. I love the Classic and Adventure modes, however I do wish there was an actual storyline you could follow. I know they eventually set this up in the next sequel, Brawl, but it was sad to see this game lacking that. Therefore, I spent most of my time trying to unlock characters and stages, some which were a big challenge for me! I also find it fun being able to collect all of the trophies.
I do think this game is much more fun with multiplayer, although the gameplay is great either way. It's definitely a Nintendo classic!
