Role Play Plaforming charm

User Rating: 7.5 | Super Paper Mario WII
If you're looking for a RPG without the grinding, the boring missions, etc. then you have found it in Super Paper Mario. While games like Final Fantasy X and Elder Scroll Oblivion gets me bored with grinding or dungeon crawling, this game is more appropriate in it does not have you grinding for too long.

While Super Paper Mario does not have a fantastic story like Final Fantasy, it does have a quite bit of charm, twist and that old Super Mario Bros. game play. That does more than make up for the cliched save the world for the umpteenth time story.

We all know that Mario usually save the princess from Bowser, but this time we're introduced to Count Bleck, he's the main villain in this game. Along the way, we're introduced to several new villains and heroes, with some twists along the way.

Even though this game has some charm, it is lacking in several ways. The graphics looks like they came out of the SNES era, with 2-D and 3-D graphics looking very bland.

Most of the speeches in this game are just typed line and that's it. For a supposed current generation game, this is pretty crude. However, I have a feeling that Nintendo was going for this look in the beginning.

Even though the graphics and sounds are nothing to write home about, the game play and the controls are still vintage Mario. The platforming puzzles are clever enough to force the players to utilize all four members of the Mario rescue party and the pixels at their disposals. All in all, the game play more than made up for the game's other deficiencies.

If you're looking for a Role Play Game mixed with platforming charm, then Super Paper Mario is your game. Here's hoping that Nintendo releases a better looking Super Paper Mario 2 in the future.
