Has potential, but still disappointing.

User Rating: 6 | Super Paper Mario WII

If I'm honest, I never have gotten into the RPG genre. Here, I tried hard to enjoy Super Paper Mario, and I did, but I didn't at the same time.

Story: It's a great story, but it has too many story elements. At the start of the game, you will have to wait in between 30 minutes to an hour until you get to play the game. Still, the story is excellent.

The Flipside feature is the best part of the game for me. Here is the problem, the puzzles are very easy. Usually all you have to do is flip to the other dimension. Still, it is fun flipping from 2D to 3D and it is a creative mecahnic.

Music: Very unmemorable. That's all I have to say there.

Gameplay: Runs smoothly, but other flaws make this a very mixed experience.

The Verdict:

Super Paper Mario is overrated but not terrible. There is the potential for a fantastic game here, but flaws made it fall short of that title. It is definitely not the worst game I've ever played, but nowhere near the best either. It all adds up for a decent but rather lame experience.

Score: 6.25/10 (Fair)

Pros:

Flipside, Graphics, Story

Cons:

Unmemorable music, Too focused on the story, Easy puzzles, Wasn't good enough to make me want to get Sticker Star
