This was my first Monkey Ball game and I LOVED IT TO DEATH!
Man, I haven't reviewed an iPod game in a while! The last one I did was Tap Tap Revenge 3. Wow!
This was my first Monkey Ball game. Recently, I have been interested with the Monkey Ball series and the Sonic the Hedgehog series, so I thought I would try out this game.
I think Sega is unique to release their games on the iPod. They released this game and Super Monkey Ball 2, as well as the first that started it all, Sonic the Hedgehog(I bought that too)
If you haven't played a Monkey Ball game, here is how you play. You play as a monkey in a ball(obviously) and you collect bananas on your way to the goal. Now since the iPod touch has a tilt sensor, you would use that to control. The controls are different from what you would expect. You move the world, not the monkey. Now you don't wanna tilt too much or you will die. Thank God there was a tilt meter so I wouldn't tilt too much.
The graphics are fine for the iPod. They look cartoony too.
I mentioned the controls before. However, I suggest that you shouldn't play this game moving. For example, do not play this game walking, riding a car, train, etc. The accelerometer is a little too sensitive, especially when you make a lot of turns and bumps. Your game can be messed up.
Super Monkey Ball is a very good game. I don't see any problems, except for the price. I think $5.00 is a little too much to pay. Maybe $3.00 is a good price. But we all know iTunes, overpricing songs and other stuff there. Oh well.
This game gets an 8 out of 10 with the title of Great!
