So, you’ve heard of Super Monkey Ball before? You say you loved it, but you still don’t know what Super Monkey Ball Adventure is like? Well, allow me to explain, we’ll start with graphics. This games graphics are absolutely gorgeous. You can see every movement of the monkeys. The backgrounds are amazing, bursting with color and form. Yes, the graphics are good, but they cannot make up for the poorness of everything else in this game. Now we will be examining controls. Controls are absolutely horrible. When I first picked up the game, I was very happy with the controls. They seemed very easy and nice. That was until I progressed. As I got farther into the game, I was sliding off cliffs, falling off ledges, and skidding into the ocean. This can make the game almost intolerable. Alright, enough with controls, let’s get to sound. The sounds in this game get so repetitive you’ll want to turn your system off. Plus, the added annoyance of the monkey’s constant bickering will drive you off the edge. Now, let’s get to the story. The prince and princess of two feuding monkey islands have gone missing, and all the happiness is gone. The Super Monkey Ball gang set off to find the runaway duo and restore happiness to all of the islanders. Sounds good, right? Not really. Anyway, throughout the game you will be doing little side quests for the islanders so you can raise your happiness. Unfortunately, some of the tasks are almost impossible do to the horrible controls. Also, some of the tasks will have you completely lost, looking around on the wrong side of the island for an hour till you decide to get a game guide. Let’s wrap this up. The gameplay just sucks and the gorgeous graphics just aren’t enough to make up for it. Avoid this game.
