Meat boy is a game that does have meat, but is it also spicy?

User Rating: 9 | Super Meat Boy PC
First of all I'd like to say that I'm glad that I played this game and found out that it is a VERY indie game ( small developer and such ), and also it's nice to know that it came from a idea of a flash game called Meat Boy.

High Concept: First of all comes the High Concept, which in theory is very simple, you're a little piece of meat that is supposed to rescue bandage girl ( who happens to be your girlfriend ) and stop Dr.Fetus from hurting her. However the idea of "world warping" gives a nice and dynamic graphic change to the game, renewing the visuals constantly and the level design works for the most time flawlessly.

Gameplay: This is the kind of game that has a different kind of immersion since it's very arcade and doesn't have such a deep history, however you'll be so addicted to it because you need to complete a level so hard that it's going to take a lot of time to take you away from your PC.( or the game )
It demands a lot of reflexes also from the player. *(Subtopic) Playability: Playability wise this game works very well for most of the time, it can frustrate you amazingly though when you want to get to some other wall and meat boy keeps glued to the one you are sliding on right now, then you get mercilessly murdered by an evil saw which happened to be just under you or well pretty much everywhere on the level.(lol) You'll press only 3 buttons and also control your character with the analog stick as usual and you'll be doing a lot of wall jumping and controlling your character while he's on air, so it requires quite a bit of skill and patience.

Graphics: This game features plain simple graphics but it does the job, HOWEVER I find them quite nice and I like them just the way they are: colorful, very square and sometimes looks ironic...(for instance the little squirrel getting **** up because he went on a saw that was on the floor, lol )

History: There's not much to say here eh? You're a little piece of meat who needs to save the beloved bandage girl from evil Dr.Fetus.

Sound: The game shines a lot over here, I think the music fits in amazingly, just like any other sound included. Not that they sound real but that they clash perfectly with each other considering the different kind of music that was used for super meat boy.

Public: The public in general who will play this games will be mostly teens and hardcore gamers, so expect to see a lot of hard levels when the editor releases in January.

Multiplayer: No multiplayer included, sorry chaps..however you can expect a level editor with online community support. o/

Price: At 15 dollars I think that you're not wasting a cent, It sounds pretty reasonable for a game like this. (on steam)

Conclusion: This game isn't for the one who takes everything seriously, but for someone who wants maybe some nostalgia feeling and a different idea of game concept, also it reminded me (gameplay wise) of some games like prince of persia and such but in a comical way filled with gore. ( lol again )

OBS = People who tend to get depressed easily or unsatisfied shouldn't play this game, it can frustrate you a LOT.

FINAL SCORE = 9.0

Why: it can get a lot better through bug fixes ( which they are doing already ) and the multiplayer part, but for the most it's a complete product.
