Many people were dissappointed when this game first came out, only because that it strayed they think, too far from Super Mario 64. Well, I think they are VERY wrong. This gameplay revolusionized the "Mario" style of play. Super Mario 64 also provided Gameplay that changed the way that RPG's were played. Not only did SMS provide good gameplay, but it made the game less repetitive. I keep comparing this game to Mario64, only because everyone keeps comparing this game to that one. SM64's got repetitive after a little while. Well, enough about the gameplay, lets talk about the other things. The graphics are spectacular. The water effects are absoluetly real, they make your mouth water with thirst. Mario model can be done a little better, but other than that, the graphics are crystal-clear. Thats all you can say about them. The sound is okay, fresh, Jamican-style music is cool, but after 2 days, it can get annoying depending on the type of attention span you have. The value of SMS can get a little short, but your paying too much attention to the gameplay and graphics to even notice how many Shines you have. Overall, this game you should add to your Gamecube Gaming Collection since it is probably the best Gamecube RPG to date.
