One of my favorite handheld games with one of the best theme songs ever!!!

This game was muched improved from the first Super Mario Land, and it shows from title alone.

-Gameplay
As said in the beginning, this is MUCH improved from the previous SML. This improvement shows the second you turn you GameBoy on. This game has wonderfuly and creativley constructed worlds, with such levels as an ant infested tree to a giant mehcanical mario. The creativity isn't just limited to the levels. Enemies, bosses, and powerups also share the creative finish. Enimies varrie from giant ants, to pumpkin headed freaks, to the traditional Goomba and Koopa Troopa. Bosses are a blast to fight and provide enough chanlage to warrent another go at them. The powerups are also really cool, and there are more (or more useful) of them than in the newest Mario portable adventure New Super Mario Bros. You get the Mushroom, Fireflower, Star-Man, and the all new and interesting bunny ears. The Bunny ears act as the Tannoki suit, that they allow you to flutter when you jump and reach higher gaps and secret areas. You also get the spin attack that you have in Super Mario World. The gameplay is pretty much awesome Mario platforming and you'll love every second of it!

-Graphics
This game had incredible graphics for the time and on the handheld it was one. It had Super Mario World like sprites where it made the characters and enviorments stick out rather than look flat and boring. With all this graphical prowess, there is some slowdown at time. This slowdown is very rare and very minimal, so playability is unaffected.

-Sound
This game has an awesome sound track. Though it only has one song in the game, every time you enter a new level the music goes through a different variation. In one level the theme is slow and trippy, in another it is very fast paced with a techno feel to it. The best version is when you fight a boss, its very fast paced but it has a guitar feel to it. Overall it has great music and sound.

-Replay
The game is so fun that you should AT LEAST go through it twice. In true Nintendo fanshion, there are a bunch of nick-nacks and do-dadds to collect but the real reason to replay is because it's so damned fun!!

Overall, don't wait, go buy this game. Sure it's old, but it's a golden oldie worth every platforming fans and pretty much every gamers time.
