ka-ching! two coins

User Rating: 8.1 | Super Mario Kart SNES
In the days of the super nintendo i played this game a lot. This is one of the games that made me a nintendo fan, it was very special back then. It's very different from nintendo 64 and gamecube versions of mariokart. It's more like mariokart for the gameboy advance: flat. There are no hills, the tracks are much shorter and each cup has five races. The game also has a coin system. If you bump into opponents you lose coins and become more vulnerable, if you have more then 10 coins you drive faster. Winninig all cups takes much practice, it's very hard and the opponents are very nasty. Donkey Kong throws bananas on the track, Yoshi eggs and the Mario brothers use stars which make them invincible. You learn to hate them. You can also use feathers to perform jumps to avoid obstacles or to take a short cut. All this and more make up for a very fun two player game, but by now the game is very very retro. O, and it's got Koopa Troopa instead of Wario, who did not exist back then.
