This has to be one of my favorite Mario games. I enjoyed Super Mario Sunshine, but it wasn't quite as fun this title. Each level seemed just the right length with just the right difficulty level. Nothing is as frustrating as getting right to the end of a super challenging level and dying, only to start over at the beginning. Galaxy avoids that by rewarding your abilities in restarting you at random checkpoints that seem right on the mark. The graphics were superb, especially for the Wii, but this game was obviously designed to make the absolute best use of the system. It's a blast to watch Mario jetting off onto another planetoid, while using the control system is very intuitive, even for a 3D platformer. It's a bit of a challenge to get used to running around upside down, but you get the hang of it pretty quickly. The two player helper bit is minimal, but it still makes the game more fun for people watching you, and this game is worth watching or playing. Ground pound, spin, and double jump your way down to the store to give this title a buy. It's a must try.
