That's great that this game got such great reviews, but is it really the best Wii game out there?
Story : Unrateable
To be honest, the Mario team hasn't developed the main series with deep and involving stories because... Mario's just not about that, and Mario isn't about that here. I can't rate the story to be honest because there's less story in this game than the first one. It basically forgets everything that happens in the original Galaxy, and has Mario in space to stop a gigantic Bowser.
Gameplay : 10
This game was so addicting. I beat it in eleven days by not even rushing it, I was just so impressed. I will admit, Clockworks Ruins Galaxy is the worst Galaxy in the two games, and arguably the worst level in any Mario game ever because of bad level design. But come on, there were so many memorable levels! Throwback Galaxy, Yoshi Star Galaxy, Puzzle Plank Galaxy, and Supermassive Galaxy. This game also delivers a very good challenge, much better than what the first Galaxy offered.
Graphics : 9.8
Galaxy 2 has a nice gorgeous art style, but I don't think it's still on par with games like Skyward Sword (lol, it's not even out), or even The Last Story or Twilight Princess. But I mean it, the daynight environments seem as if you can almost taste them (GameTrailers rip off), just like I felt with Halo Reach.
Sound : 10
Okay, I LOVE THE MUSIC IN THIS GAME. It's so impressive, Yoshi Star Galaxy I can listen to for hours straight, and there's great tunes like the ending theme, Throwback Galaxy, and even Puzzle Plank Galaxy!
Lifetime : 10
There is a lot to do in this game, such as collect all 242 stars? I don't even have 85 and I've played for like twenty hours, haha.
Replay Value : 9.3
I would replay this game probably once a year, it's really good, but as mentioned above, some bad level designs make it harder to replay.
Overall : 10 "MASTERFUL"
I am overall impressed with this game. I doubted it so much, I was annoying with reviews, I was upset about it being more critically acclaimed than what I think is better, but then I play it and end up buying myself a copy the very next day.
This is an amazing game, and I highly recommend you checking it out if you already haven't, but this isn't the best Wii game, sorry to say. I personally think Okami is number two and Twilight Princess is number one, also, stick around for my Okami review! (If you feel like it...)
