Still here? Good.

In Super Mario Galaxy 2, Mario is invited to the castle for some cake. (Yeah, the old cake trick, again) But when he gets there, he is confronted by a HUGE Bowser, who has Princess Peach captive. Bowser flies off into space with Peach; Mario goes after him with the help of the Lumas on Earth.

What I liked from the start of the game, was that you can control Mario on a 2D-like side scroll Prologue. It reminded me of SMB1. The beginning was more fun to enjoy than the first Super Mario Galaxy, in my opinion. The beginning felt a little bit straight forward and not too thorough as the first game, but it didn't bother me.

Graphically, the game hasn't changed much from the first game, but I definitely don't mind because I LOVED how the first game looked. It was pushing the Wii to the limit. Very rarely do we get Wii that look like this! It almost felt like I was playing a HD Mario game.

Now on the REAL reason why you want this game: the game play. If you played the first game, you should feel right at home and know how to play in this game. If you are new, then you shouldn't have too much difficulty, the game play controls are real smooth and easy to get used to. You have the same control schemes as the first: spin with the shake of the Wii Remote or Nun Chuck, ground pound, triple jumps, long jumps, sideways jumps, wall jumps, etc. and aiming at the screen to shoot star bits. In addition to the game play, you will be able to play with Yoshi! His controls are really cool. Instead of shooting star bits, the B button will be used for Yoshi's tongue, which you have to aim at enemies to use. Yoshi can flutter jump.

Both Mario and Yoshi have their share of power ups. Mario use a few familar power-ups from SMG1 like the Fire Flower and Bee Mushroom, but there are also some new ones like Cloud Flower and Rock Mushroom. Yoshi eats special foods that will either turn him into a balloon, go super fast, or light up hidden pathways. They are all great.

Now the music, oh man, that was awesome to hear. Not only do you get freshly, new, composed tracks, but you ALSO get to hear a few familiar tunes that you may recognize from older Mario games. They were remixed well into this game. Mario music is always cool.

That's about it, I don't want to spoil much because there is a LOT in this game that will blow you away if you enjoy Mario games, especially if you loved the first Super Mario Galaxy! Go pick it up if you haven't already! If you have a Wii, you absolutely should not miss this game!

I definitely give this game a 10/10.
