This game may be hard, but I love the game!!!!!

After Super Mario Bros 1 became a worldwide hit, the Japanese got a game called Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels. This game was re-released on the Virtual Console and the SNES as part of Super Mario All-Stars. Some review sites like GameSpot and IGN dismissed it as a ROM hack of Super Mario Bros and said that the levels are too hard to a point which even the hardcore Mario fan couldn't beat. I think that opinion is complete bullsh*t!!! Why?! Because there are people who actually can get through this game, it's just that GameSpot and IGN suck at gaming in general!!!

Anyways, in Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels is not like your average Mario platformer. You expect it to be easy? Ha! Think again. This game tests how good you are at platforming with more jumps to make, warp zones which sends you back to previous worlds, the addition of Poison Mushroom and more worlds. I love this game because of its higher difficulty which I found hard at first, but once I got used to it, I started to traverse through the levels like it was Super Mario Bros. I am currently on World 4-3 and I played this game on Super Mario All-Stars 25th Anniversary Edition. I really enjoyed this game as it is and I do not find it to be some sadistic ROM hack of the original Super Mario Bros as the levels are beatable if you try, unlike GameSpot and IGN who probably didn't even beat the first level of World 1. And another thing, other games like Mega Man and Ninja Gaiden are very hard platformers and they do not attack those games for that!!!

I majorly recommend this game to hardcore Mario gamers who would put up with the difficulty and for people who like a challenge. I really think that the newer 2D Mario games needed this kind of difficulty as you progress through worlds, because it keeps the player on edge and it makes it an overall fun game.
