A great package with the system

User Rating: 9.1 | Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt NES
Mario Bros was a fantastic game to start off the NES. Who knew that the plumber would go from the Atari 2600 to become the icon of a company? In the first installment on the NES, Mario is out to rescue the princess, but for some reason, she is always in another castle. You travel through 8 worlds to find her and when you do, the magic begins (THE END). The graphics were kind of blocky, but you got so into the game it did not matter.

Duck Hunt utilized another device, the gun. Few games actually used the gun, but it really worked. You have the option of going after 1 duck, 2 ducks, or 2 clay disks. If you missed the disks, there was no problem. If you missed a duck, the stupid dog would laugh at you. You can always cheat by sitting up close, but the game is much better played when you try to play for real. There is no real objective other than to get the high score.

Both games were great, but there was also an edition with the powerpad and Track & Field. While that package was great, I had enough fun with these two games.
