User Rating: 9.2 | Super Mario Bros. 3 NES
This is the best Mario game on the NES! Super Mario Bros. 3 really does not have a story, besides saving the princess that is. Player's were glad to see that "Sorry Mario, but the Princess is in another castle" gone! This time, you go round the map and you save the kings/princesses from monsters. The game starts out fairly easy, but gets really tough in the middle; and worse yet, there was no "save" point during those days, so if you run out of lives, you have to start all the back in world 1!!! Graphics in Mario 3 were colorful and probably the best on a NES game, because it almost looked as good as Super Mario World on SNES (SNES just have more color). Sound is alright, all the classical Mario tunes are in the game, and some new ones are added (including the future "cave" level music). This game does have a two player mode, so if one of the player dies, someone else can take over. Overall, i have very fond memories of Mario 3, and i wish there were more classics from Nintendo these days (the GBA ones are just a "SNES" update of some of these games).
