Under appreciated

Back as a nappy-headed lad, I remember being so excited over this game arriving. I rented (had my parents rent) it and proceeded to finish it. I played games ALL the time back then. Anyway, even though this game was completely different than the 1st Super Mario, it is still a great and colorful game. I also remember the ending to be exceptional compared to other games of the era. In Japan they released a different part 2. It was basically the first game with different levels. The American part 2 was actually a different game in Asia. They basically pasted Mario into it instead of the original character. It's still a good game, even though the play mechanics are completely different from the original. Who can forget Birdo? The graphics in this game had a lot more detail than the original, also.
