A Pretty Big Letdown...

Man, I remember when they released Super Mario All-Stars on the SNES. I was soooo excited to pop it in and play the old Mario I loved with the graphics that were all the rage at the time. When I had heard the Nintendo was going to be re-releasing it on the Wii as a package deal and not just a Wii Store download, I was probably even more excited then than I was when it was on the SNES. I thought, for sure, Nintendo would update the graphics (and I'm not talking super spiffy, they coulda looked like N64 graphics). They not only had The New Super Mario Bros. on the DS, and then The New Super Mario Bros. Wii, I thought we'd get a lovely rendition of these classic gems. 3d meets 2d. It would be awesome to trek the Mushroom Kingdom like this, and liven up the memories I had of Subcon. They could have at least even relased the GBA versions of these games which housed the superior audio/visuals of the set. ALl in all, I get why Nintendo didn't do anything too flashy, but I don't understand why they used something so dated. Just my personal opinion... and believe you me, I'm still Hopeful Nintendo may do this 25 yrs from now...
