I look at compilations very cautiously because most of the time what you get is the exact same of what you have already, just like the game "Midway Arcade Treasures" I got what I already have, they just put the same old games on the same old disk, The only compilation that I have any appreciation of is Super Mario All-Stars, when I first saw this game at Target I was wondering why should I spend my hard earned allowance on a series of games I already had, I originally didn't get it that day it wasn't till I read the review of this game in Nintendo power that I realized I made a mistake, so after school got out for the day that fall (My school had every issue of Nintendo Power so that's how I was able to read that issue back in October), I went back to target and forked out the money, boy was I lucky. it was the last game they had in and they said they didn't plan on getting anymore, not sure if that was a lie to make sure I wanted it but it worked. I got home and popped this puppy in my SNES and boy was I shocked, They remade the way that Super Mario, Super Mario 2 and Super Mario 3 looked, they looked like games that were meant for the SNES it's hard to believe these games originated on the NES. They improved on everything on this cartridge including even adding the game known as Super Mario: The Lost Levels, Now if you remember in my review of SMB 2 people consider this game to be a fraud of the SMB trilogy and they consider the Lost Levels to be the legit sequel to the SMB game, I like to think differently I view this game as a continuation of SMB and I still see SMB 2 as the legit sequel, as messed up as the game was it was still the sequel so if you say I'm wrong, that's your right but I will always feel the way I do. The visuals and sounds were great there isn't much you can say that's wrong about this collection, in fact there isn't anything you can say that's wrong about this series of games. I just hope that one day when Nintendo realizes that not everyone wants to have to buy classic games over the Wii Internet service I hope they will release mass compilation disks than that's when I'll buy a Wii. Over all this game is perfect it gets a 10 out of 10 and is a must have for any die hard Mario fan.
