Possibly the best Mario game of all time.
Gameplay
This is Mario at his best. The games included are: Super Mario Bros 1, 2, and 3, The Lost Levels and Super Mario World. You jump and get mushrooms by hitting ? blocks and jump and stomp on enemies until you reach the end of each level. This is the concept goes through all the games besides one (SMB2), where you pick up enemies and hurl them at other enemies to help progression through levels.But what keeps this content from getting boring is it's unique level design and power-ups. Each level is diverse and enjoyable, even if you are seeing the same backround again. The reason these levels are fun is the incredible amount of challenge. While you might clear levels without even trying, by World 3, your skills will be tested. The game is hard, but not annoyingly difficult. In each game however, the power-ups are what keep you alive and add another fun factor to the game. Mario can transform into a statue, racoon, fire maniac, frog, hammer pyscho, invincible, and a balloon. Unfortunately, certain power-ups are in certain games, so you won't play the original as a hammer pyscho. But every game is still enjoyable, even without the frog in each game.
Music
All the soundtracks have been updated to fit the 16-bit era, and they suit their levels perfectly. Some soundtracks are only average though.

Mario All-Stars is a superb game that no one should miss. It has the REAL trilogy and SMW. You'll definitely love Super Mario All Stars/Super Mario World.
