User Rating: 7 | Super Mario All-Stars (Super Mario Bros. 25th Anniversary Limited Edition) WII
Mario All Stars was released on the SNES way back in 1993 and it can now be played on the Wii. Is it any good and what about the extras.

The game features 4 Mario games and a soundtrack. A soundtrack of certain tunes from the main Mario series but they really did miss some of the more memorable tunes like Ultimate Koopa,Gusty Garden Galaxy and Dire Dire Docks and Rainbow Road.

As you know Super Mario Bros is still highly playable even today and does have a save system which I guess helps.

Super Mario Bros 2 the one that the US and Europe got was a remake of Doki Doki Panic with just Mario characters in it. It is possibly the black sheep in the series for obvious reason not feeling like a Mario game.

Super Mario Bros 3 is possibly the best Mario game in the series which is possibly up for debate when up against Mario World. It makes this game better with the Save System but if you have the Wii version you just go press the Home Menu and click Wii Menu and it saves it for you and also there is a remake on the GBA as well.

Super Mario Bros the Lost Levels is the final game in the collection. It wasn't released because of its difficultly to European and US regions because of its diffficultly. Basically its an updated Super Mario Bros only harder.

The game can be played with the Wii mote on its side but it can also be played with a Gamecube controller too.

The overall verdict is if you have the games on the Virtual Console it really isn't worth shelling out for it. Plus it could have done with a few more Mario games like Super Mario Land 1 and 2,Super Mario World and Yoshis Island but if you weren't around at the time then maybe you should give it a look but I expected alot better from this collection.
