I would rather play this than some relatively new games.

Very likely the best action side-scroller game ever, it's amazing to play it even in 2010, it's a master piece and better than some games i've played from this decade. The music in the game is amazing, it's so good i listen to it even when i am not playing, the graphics are astonishing for a SNES game with detailed scenarios but the best of all is the gameplay, you have complete control over you whip, you can swing it in 8 different directions and if you hold B you can make weaker but useful attacks in anyway you want, when you hold B you control the whip with your joypad. The difficulty is satisfying, it isn't that hard at the beginning but the deeper you move on the harder it gets, when you reach the last level it's like the game tells you "you've come this far, welcome to hell".
For a SNES game i would say :
Gameplay : 10/10
Graphics : 9.8/10
Music : 10/10
Story : 9.0/10
Remember this is considering it's a SNES game.
Overall : 9.8
