A low point in the series.

To me, Super Bomberman 4 was just too much. It did little to set itself apart from the other games. I feel that 4 is the worst of the 5 in the series. But that doesn't make it bad. It's still a great game. The graphics were great, and it really shows in the different stages. But some of the stages I wasn't fond of. The music was pretty good in this game. Normal Mode once again changed. The last game saw the introduction of the egg and the creature. This time when you're already on a creature and step on an egg, it follows you. So if the creature dies, you have another one to back it up. This was weird. I just would have prefered it, that if you die, you just come right back. The whole thing with holding eggs is too much. Battle Mode in this was great as always. This time you had the power to choose what powerups were available and the quantity of each. I found it hard to navigate at first (being that this game is only in Japanese) but I eventually found my way around it. Another cool thing is, when you are killed, you still can control the outcome of the game. When you die, you can move around the borders of the stage tossing bombs. This is a good way to get revenge on the one who killed you. SBM4 is a great stand alone game, but not as good as the previous SBM games. If you've played the others, the reason why you should play this is because of the Battle Mode.
