I thought the interface was lacking in efficiency and the game was too short, but it was still a good game regardless.

I had never even touched this game before playing 2, 3, and 4. Playing Suikoden 1 made me realize just how hard Konami is working on this series, they're doing their best to make good stories, interesting characters, and keeping the importance of the 108 stars of destiny at the same time.

Suikoden's interface was not very efficient, it made it harder to play through dungeons because you did not have much room to store the items you find, but on the other hand it was more realistic because you can only hold so many items on a person at one time instead of magically pulling an arsenal of items, weapons, and armor out of thin air.

I thought the game was too short because it took me a while to get into the story, and when I did it was awfully close to the ending. However, the story was still interesting enough for me to keep playing and I don't feel like it was a waste of time either.
