Suikoden was just released for play on the PS3/PSP, and is well worth a go for RPG fans.
I really don't need to add much to the zilliion reviews already here, but in a nutshell:
Visuals: The graphics are classic PSOne old-skool mid-90's RPG -- small, colorful, lightly animated characters zipping around small, colorful surroundings. There are not "cut scenes", per-se, so we're not talking a full-on Square Enix-style presentation, but the in-game-world story sequences work fine.
Audio: Some good midi music throughout. Not super memorable, but appropriate and nice. No voice acting.
Characters: Pretty rote JRPG, with the occasional interesting twist. I didn't find the character histories or motivations to be particularly deep, but they were fine for a medium-weight RPG.
Story: The storyline is again nothing new, but interesting enough to pull you through. The main game will take about 30-40 hours to play through if you don't obsess on every nook and cranny.
Overall, it's a fun game. Not epic, not fantastically cinematic, but it'll scratch your itch for solid, "old school" Japanese style RPG, and I find it to be a great game on-the-go on the PSP.
