The best game of the series
Gameplay stays similar as the first two Suikoden games, controlling a six man team with their own individual skills at their disposal. Story is magnificent, collecting 108 stars of destiny is still making us get them all! War battles has returned, along with one on one duels with during certain events as always. As for War Battles, this time is different. Instead of just land battles, you also get to fight at sea! It'll take time to actually get used to it, but its winnable. Also, you can customize your battle units to your liking, you can change any unit to a different unit, for example: You want to change an Archer Unit into a Calvary Unit, all you have to do is get rid of the current characters and add a Leader that will make that unit to a Calvary and add supporting characters to actually make that unit shine. Its that easy. As I said before, you can customize your units to your liking to win the battle. You'll also gain extra rare items if you destroy all the enemy units along with extra money to your bag.
When fighting random battles, you can use your characters' skills,runes and Coop Attacks in battle to win. Using Coop Attacks can get you the upper hand on some Mini-bosses and main bosses. Coop Attack works similar to the previous games. Use two three, four or six character's for Coop-Attack! Yup, I said 6! Its fun to use coop attacks in battle just to spice it up.
Storyline is magnificent! Lots of twists on the story as you get into the game later on. The struggle for the throne and trying to stop the evil that has occupied the Sun and Twilight Rune. You as the Prince, must stop these enemies and get back your home, by starting up a Rebel Army and try to get as much help as you can to get where you want to go.
So, if you planning to get a Suikoden game, this one is recommended by me and probably others will also say the same. So, get off your chair and go buy the game! :)
