Yet again... another great Suikoden game.

User Rating: 8.4 | Suikoden V PS2
Suikoden V doesn't improve pretty much in the graphic department, but it definitely will give you a fine and entertaining time. It is one of those games that you shouldn't judge on the cover, as it might seem dull and a bit old school, it's a lot more fun than it seems, and it hold it's own against the best rpgs out there.
It improves from previous versions in many ways, customization of characters is more versatile and the new formation and tech features make it better for strategy planning.

Suikoden V is the last part of an amazing saga, retaking what seemed to be lost from previous Suikoden games, and mixing it with the old version's feeling, new hypes and new ideas, resulting in a very entertaining, and probably best part of the saga.
Graphically it might be a bit mediocre, as it does not exploit the best capabilities of the consoles, and sadly many people consider it the biggest turn down this game has. But it more than makes up for it in the great gameplay and feeling it will give to you.

The main characteristic of this game, as in previous versions, is the amount of characters you get to use, 108 diferent characters which are very diverse and have very personal characteristics, which is one of the best features of the suikoden saga, you will simply find your own favorite character and make him/her/it the strongest you can, from little warrior-wannabe kids to big beast and strong warriors. As in previous versions, story isn't really absorbing, and it will have a very slow start, but eventually it will become more interesting, and as it does it wil simply "grow on you", you will learn to like the game. Suikoden V is not one of those RPG that you should play "while you wait for the next FF", Suikoden is one of those RPG that you should play... and that's it.
