Third best suikoden game in the series after 3 and 2.

Whats is good about this game? As in all Suikoden games the story is top notch and unlike the other suikoden games the gameplay is a lot better. Though gameplay isn't why people play RPGs, at least it's not why I play RPGs. I play for the story and characters. While Suikoden V delivers I can't help but compare it with Suikoden 3 (one of my favorite games of all time). The story isn't as engaging to me and the places are not as interesting. One example of this uninspired places is the docks of the capital of Sol-Falena. It's literally just a bunch of gray brick stairs with a boat at the bottom and for some reason nobody is there. I didn't love any of the places/cultures or characters like I did in Suikoden 3 or such great RPGs like FF7 and FFX. This game is still good but falls short in being a cult classic (in my mind anyways, apparantly a lot of people will disagree with me). Though not all places and characters are uninspired. There are some good characters but not very many and not as good as I think the suikoden standard is after suikoden 3. On a positive not it is 10 times better than suikoden 4.
