A beautifully-made RPG game, but lacked in quality

User Rating: 4.5 | Sudeki PC
Sudeki is a Role-Playing Game set in a world full of fantasy (like those you see in Final Fantasy series). You will play as one of the four characters in the game, Tal, Elco, Ailish, and Buki. Tal is soldier for Illumina (a capital city in Haskilia), Ailish is the princess of the Illuman who wants to travel even though her mother Queen Lusica doesn't allow her, Elco is a scientist who worked in Illumina and busy looking for crystal (Arklorian Crystal) around the world to complete his invention known as Peace Shield. Lastly, Buki is a girl from Shadani Mo tribe, and in the game she is the ambassador for Shadani Mo to Illumina.

Each of these characters has unique abilities, Tal can push or pull boxes/objects to solve puzzles, Elco can fly temporarily using his jetpacks to get to higher platform, Ailish can dispels hidden objects (treasures, blocked stone, etc) Buki can climb certain wall to reach to other platform

The story is about a world called Sudeki is split into two. Tetsu (like a god in the game) where people around Sudeki worship him, had ruled Sudeki along with this guy (sorry I don't remember his name), Tetsu got into trouble with him and split the world into two along with its lifeforms. You can see this in the intro movie and will know deeper when playing the game. So this game will tell you that the Age of Unity is coming, combined two world into one again. Lets talk battles and gameplay features.

Sudeki's Battle is not a turn-based, instead you will fight monsters/enemies in 3rd person action with hack and slash concept, you can use magic and items during fighting and use the special attacks. You will have HP for life, SP for executing Skills, and Spirit Strike Point (SSP) to established Spirit Strike. You'll gain experience after finishing battles to level up your characters. You'll fight along with your friends which is controlled by AI, you can change character during battle, all characters will get equal amount of experience points so there's no need to yell "That's my target!".

You can set the AI settings to Attack (constantly attacking enemies at full force), Defend (attacking enemies but do lot of blocking), or Retreat (avoiding enemies and attack only at a distance).

Tal and Buki will attack using melee weapons while Buki and Ailish will use ranged attacks. Tal and Buki can perform combo attacks using thee combinations of keys, and certain combo attacks can be extended the
more than three combinations. Both of them offers Special Attacks which can perform on enemies to do higher damage.

Ailish and Elco used ranged weapons and doesn't have combo attacks, this two characters will fight in first person view rather than third person, Ailish can cycle through weapons immediately while other characters will need to go QuickMenu using a hotkey during battle to change weapons, you can use QuickMenu to perform Skills, using Items, setting AI behaviour, change weapons, and perform Spirit Strike.

When you're level up, you'll received AP which you can use to unlock new Skills, raising HP or SP, or raising your Power (I think its for Strength and Defenses) and Essence (raise damage to Skill Attack), choose wisely so that your character is perfectly build up.

In terms of Skills attacks, these attacks comes from the character's Skills and consumed the SP, they are executed in a unique way,
you'll need to go to QuickMenu during fighting, when the QuickMenu is
displayed, everything is slowdown including you and your enemies, when a Special Attacks is selected, there'll be a bar apear on bottom of
your character, this indicates the range of the where attack can reach, the bar will filled up and the attack will be executed. Depends on Special Attack
you used, some attacks will be executed immediately without waiting, and some attacks has circle bar to attack enemies around you.

Ailish Elco mostly have supportive Skills like cure all members, cast protect on members, weaken enemies, etc while Tal and Buki will be more to
attacking enemies but they do have one or two supportive Skills. Enemies can cast status effect like poison, fear, and so on. When enough SSP is gained you can execute Spririt Strike, which unleashed the servant of Tetsu (each character has diferent Spirit Strike) and tend to do a lot of damage.

There's a merchant and blacksmith featured in the game, familiar items seen in RPG games like potions, skill ointment can be bought from
merchant known as Kamo Shop, Blacksmith can make an echant item (be it your weapons and armor) with the items that you have. In Sudeki, you can't change your armor (until Tetsu comes and cast the shield on you).

So far Sudeki only has style but lacked quality, it has good appearances and may attracted some gamers but it's below average voice-acting, poor storyline, and lacked good background musics just made this beautiful RPG game seems boring to play. Some places are ridiculously hard, you can't even getup and continously get beaten until death (that's so unfair), the problem is that you can still get beaten when gets knocked down, you can't control your character while he's knocked down, so there's a flaw in the battle system, which just make Sudekia hard game.

Enemies in the game are very unforgiving, a couple of enemies can just give one hit that can reduce much of your HP, receive two more
and your HP is below half. At this point you'll use potions which make your character uncontrollable for 3 seconds and get bashed by enemies again.
Sudeki really supports Nvidia video cards, but you can play with ATi cards also, I've tried it with X800GTO with Catalyst 5.12 and it had no problems
at all.
