Not offering you much of a challenge making it feel like we've seen stuff like this done before in other platfomers

User Rating: 5 | Stuart Little 2 PS

For a movie tie-in game most movie related titles that were released for the PS1 often got its fair reviews, but in 2002 there were a few games that were released on the PS1 during that year but there have been some bad games along with it. You would think that Stuart Little 2 would a game itself turns out that a game did exists because whenever a big film is released during the summer there's always a game released around the same time either before or after the film is released.

Stuart Little 2's gameplay may feel familiar to other platformers like Toy Story 2 and Muppet Monster Adventure; just feels like we've seen stuff like this done before in the past but in other games. Each level you need at least 4 pieces of jewellery in order to unlock the next level, exploring levels from suburban areas, parks and sewer systems. Half the levels feel big to explore especially for a game aimed at kids but the whole game sort of feels empty when it comes to the layout design for its environments. There's at least six challenges in each of the levels where some challenges are awarded upon completion of certain objectives which range from simple platforming, combat and even a few vehicular sections.

You would think that Magenta Software would have least put a few more ideas in their ideas when developing this game during that time as I've already mentioned does feel a little empty in later levels including the challenges can feel a little repetitive and very straight forward to complete like collecting 30 stars on your skateboard within a time limit or race against a grasshopper. Nice idea to have climbing and swimming platforms with it having it in a small world setting but the camera can be a problem when it comes to gameplay using both the L2 and R2 to move the camera around but half the time the camera will have a mind of its own and enemies will just appear out if know where after a few seconds after defeating and slowly turning your back away. I like the idea that you can go through first-person mode when it comes to crawling through small spaces and you can throw small items at enemies making it feel like a cheaper version of an FPS game but using small item pieces like sweets, bottle caps and screws.

It might have some nice visuals for a game that was released in 2002, what makes this game even more lazy that it's been using same exact song has been copied and pasted throughout nearly all of the game levels. The final boss feels both lazy and extremely easy there isn't else much to say about that after, if you want to get 100% there are clipboards that are scatted across each of the level but are all the same low-res cutscenes from the movie which you have already seen before starting and finishing a new level there isn't any other special features added in at all.

Apart from being a very short platformer you can easily complete most of the game 100% within a day but for a kids game they might get bit of fun out of Stuart Little 2 but not for very long after finding out that there are repetitive challenges empty environments in later levels.
