Street Supremacy is a good Street racer with Tokyo Extreme Racer Elements...

This game looks and feels very similar yo the Tokyo Extreme Racer Series. As an on the go racer, it is one of the better ones available on the PSP.

You think that since it is like Tokyo Extreme Racer that there are some of the same features. Very true, but also not true. After playing for about 1 hour there is no free roam like in the Tokyo series. So you won't be flashing your headlights to make challenges in this game. It sounds bad, right. At first it is a bit dissapointing. But you remember how sometimes you would drive around and then get up to someone and accidentally speed past them before challenging. No worries now. Instead of driving around you are given a "SEARCH SCREEN." Through this you can press left and right on the directional pad and choos to challenge this racer. As a portable game this was probably the better choice to go with.

The games career mode takes a pretty neat approach. instead of going against EVERYONE on the streets individually, you are now on a so called street team. You must build your way to the top of that team to become the leader. While accomplishing this your team will race against other teams from around the streets to take over their territories. You can recruit racers from other teams to yours to make yours stronger. It is a pretty neat concept.

The cars in the gaem look pretty good. They have good color, lighting and such. The cars customization is nice as well as you can tune up the engine, body, and other parts as well. The Nos in the game isnt rechargable like in other games. So if you use it you lose it. You will see some familiar cars in the game but as usual aren't the same name as here in the states.

This game however isnt easy. it takes a bit to get used to. Why? Because we are so used to the steering in games like NFS and Midnight Club. it is extrememly easy to steer in those games. This game is different. You need to use the break very effectively at the right moment through turns or your in the wall. It takes a bit to get used to. But even when you get the hang of it, it is still a bit hard. This is a good thing as too many racers out there are WAY TO EASY anymore. So you will have your challenges.

All in all Street Supremacy is a good racer on the PSP. Possibly the best Street racer for the handheld. If you love the Tokyo Extreme Racer series and want a good challenge this is a great pickup. Especially on the go. And at $29.99, it is a great deal.
