A game that has so much potential to be a great game...

The game basics are set to building up your ride, going out into the streets and racing for money or pink slips for upgrades. You are also a part of a street racing garage team that also changes as you rank up your status. There's a good amount of freedom that allows you to custom-build your car, all the way down to the mechanics. And once out on the city streets, you look for likely competitors and decide which streets to race on. There's also a good night time drag race competition where all the hottest racers meet and prove their worth.
The downsides to this game is that there are plenty of bugs, graphics aren't the greatest, and it lacks more in-depth storytelling. There aren't too many cars to choose from, and controls are a bit awkward.
What I like about this game is that it allows you to decide where and how you want to race. You also get to go deep down into your car and piece-by-piece put your engine together, along with the exhaust of your choice.
This game is has that original idea for street racing. You don't want to race on a race track, but you want to race in the city and weave through traffic and dodge pedestrians (none in game, tho). The police also come looking for you if you cause trouble or are speeding, so it's a fun chase game too.
I really wish they would come out with a new version of this game.
