Not the best Basketball sim but....

User Rating: 6.9 | Street Hoops XBOX
Street Hoops is not the best basketball game out there to me Inside drive holds that trophy, but when it comes to streetball , Street Hoops has the right feel and presentation to it , even if does not have the greatest basketball engine.

the game is fun , The defence in this game might as well not be there , because the game is so fast you wont have a chance to swipe at a ball.
but hitting the offence street moves and dunking hard gives you enough rush to keep going.

The word challenge mode gets pretty dull and repetive with same ball games with differerent levels of difficulty.
But going shopping and suiting up for the next game keeps you going if you have the cash.

Buying the clothes is fine , but they dont look that good , compared to the Nba Ballers selection , but then again this game was before that when the competition was the original NBA street.

Sound is great with grunts , squeks , thumps , dunks , chain rattles and crowd. the announcer is forgettable and it would of been more entertaining to here a guy who had no idea what was going on who would mumble about anything ,rather than Mr Big boy.

Custom Soundtracks help if your not into the Rap Music thats on offer. But then again it fits in more than metal or 80-s pop.

The presentation and menus are done nicely, the Player select menu takes awhile to get use to , and the shops are nice looking and easy to look around.
the courts are stunning . with courts on the farm , and of course famous courts around the U.S.

the graphic models move nicely enough but most of the players blend in together compared to other nba games.

the create-a-player feature might as well not be there, with not enough options since you customize hair, clothes, tatoos in the other modes. but when you create -a-player you will have zero stats , so you will have to earn stats via the world challenge mode to get a decent baller.
Unlockable content is there with plenty of streetball movies and some Music clips from cypress hill and Xibit.

Overall I prefer this over the only other Streetball game i own witch is NBA STREET , so this reviewer has no knowledge about any of the latest games in the genre, but This game still gets a play , and i still have a fun time ....for awhile
