Real Fighting Game fans Review of SF X TK

User Rating: 7.5 | Street Fighter X Tekken X360
I would like to do my review of street fighter X tekken since Im really noticing a trend here. Alot of reviews Ive seen are kinda giving SF X TK alot passes on things in their reviews. So here goes....

Pros: One of the things I was most excited for and that stands out in SF X TK is the huge selection of characters. I really enjoy the variety of characters in this game. They have almost all the characters Ive enjoyed over the years from both franchises. I know theres some games out there that have had more then 38 characters but I believe 38 is a well stacked roster in a fighting game.
I also really enjoyed the Gameplay system is this game. When I first seen SF X TK I was worried it would play exactly like SF4. Im glad they decided to add tweaks to that system. The characters combos/tag specials are fun and keep you interested. I find myself mixing up characters I like just to see who worst good together. The Graphics is this game are great but some tekken characters seem to look a bit more silly then they are in the tekken games.
The Mission mode is a good add to the game becuase it kinda forces you to use different teams to beat different missions. Although some missions seem impossible lol

Cons: First off I have to point out the Lack in game modes. This is one of the biggest let downs for me that ive seen with most of capcoms fighting games. This is also one of the issues that I Never see in any other reviews
Th Story /Arcade Mode isnt anything special (Again a Capcom issue) compared to a game like Mortal Kombat which has an arcade mode (where most everyone has endings) and a True Story Mode.
Another issue I had with the game is the color edit system. Honestly I feel like it was a last minute addition. Seeing a game like King of fighters coming out on day one with a full color edit kinda brings this ones down But I am glad that the colors coming out for dlc will be free.
The Online mode is good but its also the basics. After playing fighting games like Soul calibur or MK9 I kinda felt spoiled compared to this game.

On Disc DLC: This ofcourse has been making a huge buzz since the game released. There are ofcourse both sides to this argument. For starters you have the Gamers side, they feel ripped off due to them having to pay to "unlock" stuff already on the disc. Then you have Capcoms side who have made a statement saying they did it to "save hard drive space and to ensure for a smooth transition when the DLC is available. This format also allows people to play against the 12 new characters & see the alternate costumes when they're released if they choose not to purchase them." Personally I for once agree with both sides. The way I see it is even if you dont download the 12 new characters you still have a very well stacked 38 characters which is very good considering its their first stab at this game. Alot of other games only push for 30 overall but this is pushing 40(over 40 for ps3) plus 12 more if you do download the dlc.

OverAll: This game is a great fighting game but I dont believe it deserves the praise it has been getting from other sites including gamespots review. It has an excellent roster and fun gameplay But I dont think It has the lasting factor. Heres to Hoping Tekken X Streetfighter will be "The Clash" of these franchises that I was hoping for.
