Who are the "secret top tier"?

I thought we could have a bit of fun, now that launch has been and gone and peeps have worked out strategies to battle the Hugo's, Rolento's and Ryu's (to some extent) which other characters do you think are really, really good (aka "the secret top tier"
but slept on.
I'll get the ball rolling: Law (my SFXT main for life)
PS remember its all fun, let's share tech and highlight the positives of the extended SFXT cast.

Xiaoyu fits the bill perfectly. You have to be good to use her correctly and if you're not good at reading your opponent you're gonna get destroyed. She has plenty of tools and doesn't suffer massive damage scaling issues like a lot of the smaller characters (looking at you Lili and Chun-Li).
She even has a projectile reflect that I abuse against Ryu Hadoken spammers, Pheonix stance is capable of crawling under most projectiles, minus low tiger shots and kiokens. California roll is very nice if you can manage to slide right behind your opponent during the last few active frames to follow up with a juicy damaging combo.
Another huge advantage is the fact that very few people even play Xiaoyu online so not having to worry about mirror matches and being unpredictable is a huge plus.

Yeah, Law is used a lot but not played to his full potential, he has a lot of tech that the average Law user doesn't put to good use. I think ibuki definitely fits the bill tho, she has great potential once you learn what she has to offer.

I totally agree on the Xiaoyu front, she's a great character both on point and as anchor, she also has the option to safe tag which will be a huge asset as the meta game for this title develops.

I agree. I can't really decide whether to put her on point or anchor she just does so well in either role. I literally have ran into only 2 other Xiaoyu players other than myself online. Her Pheonix Talon > tag cancel is so safe and Hk Flower Power > tag cancel makes for nice safe tags that can easily set up opponents for cross-ups due to the huge amounts of blockstun.

I know what you mean, I feel exactly the same way about Law. Xiaoyu is definitely a threat in this game, not one to be underestimated, I wish more people would pick her up so more tech can be found I'm sure she has loads. I don't know xiaoyu's moves or anything but are the moves you mentioned the ones where she can switch without meter using a raw launcher within a combo? I do this with Law and saw tatsu on stream do this with xiaoyu, was cool.

Nah those are actually different methods I never even seen honestly. I rarely use launchers since I'm downright horrible at making sure my attacks aren't blocked. I just take advantage of blockstun and use tag cancels to lay down the punishment. I'll have to check those videos out, definitely might be able to incorporate some of that stuff in my strategy provided it doesn't take near godlike execution to perform.

I wish I could figure out Ibuki... her vortex game is out, and her left-right dash mixups seem to be easily interrupted with simple jab/srk mashing (and alpha counters really kill her TC4 on block)
