How, exactly, do the Recoverable assist gems work? The meter cost is obvious, but how much more recoverable health do you benefit from it? They're the only two gems in the Assist Gems set I'm remotely interested in, but not sure I really want to buy if they suck.
A question in terms of completely casual play. My sister is coming down to visit me for a few days and wants to play the game Co-op with me. I mostly main bulkier characters like Marduk, Jack-X, and Sagat(In that order of importance). I really do like King, but I find him tough to use. She plans on maining Lili. We're both fairly familiar with games like UMVC, but we're newer to SF stuff. Any suggestions on gem setups for either of us? I'm generally more of a defensive player and she's more pressure, if that helps.

Another Lili player? Gimme her PSN I'll destroy her real quick and show her what a REAL Lili is!
Also for gems on King, 1 speed ( #of attacks blocked) 2 power (1 normal based and the other super), 3 power (2 normals based and the other super). Yep..

I'll give it to you since your PSN is "the REALSeal." But we already know who owns the crown for Lili on PSN.

lol you guys, anyways TC there's no real reason to be buying any gems. The free gems already available are good enough to suit your needs. Imo Just copy what the pro players use, it's what I see online anyways. Two defense gems and one recoverable. The recoverable gem is one that activates after x hits.

That's silly, any character with a high number of hits per combo (like Rolento) will just cause all of them to activate in one combo.

Alright. Thanks for all the feedback guys! I ended up going with Marduk and Jack-X as my mains, as I play way better with them than King. My sister ended up hating the way Lili plays and mains Alisa now, and She does great with her. My roommate ended up picking Hwoarang.
Like my OP says, we're by no means pros. We're not new to the genre or anything, but we don't get into hyper-analyzing mechanics either. I think we're getting better, especialy launch combo chaining. We have a lot of fun setting up cross assault combos, too. We still have a lot to learn, though, and I doubt we would do too well in competitive play, haha. Thanks again for the tips! Much appeciated.

You're playing Marduk, sweet. What's your PSN so we can play sometime. I sub Mardook.

My PSN is the same as my account name here: Xyraphius. ^^
Bear in mind, at least for the next day or so, that it's probably not really going to be me playing. My roommate and sister have been playing on my account(Plus, Playstation All-Stars in few hours, woo!~) That and you'll probably likely hand any of us our asses on a silver platter anyway. xD Haven't touched any of the online modes yet.
