Taking both formulas from Street Fighter II games and the Alpha series, Capcom makes a huge impact with 3rd Strike among fighting fans. While it may not be as technical as the Alpha series was, it is still a joy to play and beat up your friends in a street fight. Many would argue that their favorite characters didn't make it to the game, for instance Sagat, Blanka, Fei-Long, etc… and thus left some in disappointment. Of course you get your traditional fighters Ryu and Ken as well as many new fighters added which are fairly good to play as, like Dudley (which IMO is better than Balrog), and then we have Yun & Yang (identical fighting style fast-paced) both fighters can be compared with Fei-Long… but no "Rising Dragon Kick". Overall I thought it was an amazing though it does not come close to the Alpha series or the original Street Fighter II games. Worth playing.
Gameplay: Well, for starters let me add that the Dreamcast controller really picks up every move you execute in the game, if you are worried you wont be able to pull off a move with the controller then you could always get an arcade stick. Capcom does a good job on porting the game, animations and sound are great, loading times are quite fast too.
Final Score: Controls: 5/5 New Characters: 4/5 Difficulty: Normal
