First original classic 3-D Street Fighter

User Rating: 8 | Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha (Value Series) PS
Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha is no doubt about it, a great classic game. It was the first 3-D Street Fighter game and it was a success. Back then it looked amazing to see it hit 3-D, playing it now it looks terrible but, it was amazing at the time. It had all your classic fighters including Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Zangief, Guile, Akuma and M.Bison, and featured some new characters. It had a a good amount of characters with 23 characters. The gameplay was similar to all previous Street Fighter games, so if you remember some of the moves the characters had, you should have no problem. The game had a few modes to keep you busy such as Arcade, Team Battle, Survival and Time Attack. You can also watch 2 cpu characters go head to head, do a versus match or practice your skills. The only thing about expert mode in practice was it seemed frustrating to do some of the moves the game would tell you to do, and it's something I wouldn't go back to. Now here is the game's biggest problem and why it's not a higher score for me, you don't really know the story (if there is any), there's the arcade and you always fight M.Bison as the final boss. When you finish arcade, usually every character in a fighting game has an ending with some kind of story, well in Street Fighter Ex Plus Alpha, the characters have a movie ending, but it just shows them doing something with no story. I had no idea what each ending meant, and they were all basically corny. Other than that, it was a great fighting game, and still one of my favorite Street Fighter games regardless the bad arcade endings. I had fun with this game, and I'm pretty sure many Street Fighter fans did as well.
