Street Alpha Fighter for the Game Boy Color, is a port of the arcade game to the hand held, and while a little ambitious, and a little limiting, the game actually proves to be one fine fighter, and quite possibly the best Game Boy Color fighting game period.
the Game let's you choose between ten initial fighters (and 3 secret characters). The move list isn't as advanced as the arcade, but Capcom still gave each a pretty good move list, and the ability to use special moves. it also incorporates the level bar from the arcade to deliver huge special combos.
Graphically, the game looks excellent on the Game Boy, the game keeps a very fast pace, present from the arcade, and even has some little special background animations. The characters aren't incredibly detailed, but flow excellent through moves.
There's Arcade and training modes for your game play pleasure. The sound fits pretty well, with some nice tunes (albeit forgettable).
The best part of the game though, is the fact it's a pretty deep fighter for what it is, You'll be moving around, blocking, fighting, doing special moves, all that you expect from a SF game. And the fact that it's only a two button game (aside from the control pad) is amazing. You just gotta play it to see how good it (surprisingly) is.

If you intend on finishing the Arcade Mode with almost ANY chosen fighter, please confine yourself in a room first.

Although stripped down substantially, its still a great port and fun for on-the-go play.
