This game is an utterly amazing technical achievement! First lets get right into the game with the single player. You are a COG soldier named Marcus Fenix who has just been released prison to fight an ongoing war against the Locust horde. When you get to the main menu start up the campaign mode and choose the hardcore difficulty level please. This is crucial your first play through. The game is meant to be played on this difficulty it feels just right your first play through. You are a COG soldier named Marcus Fenix who has just been released prison to fight an ongoing war against the Locust horde. Right off the bayonet the action starts. Your stuffed behind a wall fighting a group of locust and they are as smart as you are but this is just the beginning. The game proceeds through with amazing cut scenes and perfectly timed boss fights. Im leaving the description bleak so you can experience it yourself. This game will take you around ten hours to finish on casual straight through. Right after beating it you'll immediatley want to play it again on insane and your in for a ride. Not even factoring how much time you spend in co-op This game will easily clock in around 20 hours by beating the game on both difficulties. Another thing that is amazing about this game is the graphics. Every thing in this game looks like it has been polished for years. I never found myself looking at something and going that looks unfinished or that piece of ground is blurry. Everything is simply beautiful.I didn't even see the frame rate slow down , not once. I don't think there is a better looking game in the video game world presently. It would be a shame if you don't play this on HD but I am sure it will still shock you on how it looks. You will finally be telling your friends this is what next generation looks like. This game sounds about as good as it looks, amazing. You will here every footstep Marcus takes and every batllecry a Locust takes before charging at you with a shotgun ready to blow your head off. This is another reason to own surround sound. Who doesn't want to hear the chilling sound of a chainsaw cutting through a locust all around your room. You don't want to miss this. Now I want to talk about multi player. The multiplayer takes many of the amazing game play elements from the single player, taking cover, blind firing, melee attacks(yes the chainsaw), and implements them in a successful multiplayer experience. The action starts off as a team of four COG soldiers or Locust try to completely annhlilate the other team by means of a solid number of balanced weapons. The modes are war zone, assassination, and execution. The lack of modes in my opinion doesn't make to much of a difference in the gameplay. I just think what is there is enough. There is also a plethora of great maps. All of them filled with tactical points of cover and areas for heated gun battles. There is also more maps to come thanks to download able content. This game also has a co-op option for the single player which I touched on earlier. It is easily the best way to play through the campaign mode because you can revive your teammate through most of the story. You can play all the multiplayer modes including playing online in two player split screen, system link up to four consoles and of course xbox live. This game is the reason to own a video game system. If you don't like shooters I almost guarantee this game will change your mind. Epic, in my opinion, has definitely made the best game yet for the xbox 360 bar none. When someone says killer app now I automatically think of this. Once you've played this game through you will realize why you became a gamer in the first place. I think it is the rebirth of action gaming and it has set standards for games in general that might be very difficult to surpass. Good luck Halo.
