Pure, old-fashioned action was never so much FUN! :D

Well, it's finally time- my first official BLOG game review. I was struggling with my self which game should I review. After a long while of playing, my decision was STRANGLEHOLD. First of all, it was my 1st decision because I recently watched John Woo's maybe best movie ever made, "Lat Sau San Taam", or better known, "Hard Boiled", an action masterpiece with Chow Yun-Fat in the leading role, as Inspector Tequila Yuen. 2nd reason was the fact that I was looking for pure, old-fashioned action games, and I found just the perfect one.

POSITIVE

Gameplay:- Maybe the best "component" of the whole game, the pure, old-fashioned action gameplay I was looking and talking about. STRANGLEHOLD brings something that, in the beggining looks not a good idea, but in fact, it seems to be the best part of the game. Dozens of enemies and shooting mobsters hoping around from nowhere, throwing at you their whole artillery. Midway made a great catch with the slow motion action move, which, although it simplifies the whole gameplay, brings also the magic into it. John Woo, with his fantastic action-eye delivers here something what any other game can't deliver. Plus, the special, so called, "powers", which help you throughout the game.

Level Designs:- The levels are awesome! Although it doesnt have the best graphics, Stranglehold delivers awesome, destructible environments throughput the game. Although you were in the marketplace, the restaurant or the mountains, everywhere you hide, the place can be destroyed. Not just that, but the environment brings the atmosphere form the game right to you!

Story:- Everyone who ever saw or heard about Hard Boiled and John Woo, will face the great story one more time in this game. Drug dealers, mobsters, Tequila's wish for revenge and many more make this game an awesome movie to play. Two thumbs up!

NEGATIVE

Repedetivity:- First of all, let's get this clear- Stranglehold is a repeditive game. Almost every level gameplay and mission is the same- shoot, kill, destroy, get out. Maybe the biggest mistake Midyway made here, but, thanks to the story and gameplay, it doesn't affect to much on the game.

Animation:- What's with the animation? Like it's 1998 and were playing a PlayStation game- the animation graphics sucks! Thank God, the ingame graphics is better .

Short:- The worst part of the game- it's short. Although not too short, but still very much for a game such as Stranglehold.

CONCLUSION

Stranglehold is a great game. It delivers a great story, super action scenarios and original moves and shoot-outs. Although it could have been better, Stranglehold still delivers a great action game, that you can enjoy alone, or brings up a few friends to your crib and WOW at the action scenes and moves . All together, thumb up!
