I was trying to decide between this and Shaun White SB, bought both, and returned SWSB quick after playing this!

I was looking for a good, realistic snowboarding game to get, and I couldn't really tell what kind of differences there were between Stoked and Shaun White when I read the reviews. So I decided to buy both, SW first. SW was an extremely disappointing game. Very choppy movements, unrealistic physics, problems with speed of the player, and limited mobility about the mountain, combined with a weird objective based-ness to it (collecting tokens to progress and gain weird powers to break through walls and stuff).

Then I decided to pick up Stoked in addition to SW. After I started playing Stoked, I never put SW back into my Xbox, and returned it within the week. Stoked has incredibly superior smooth gameplay and a vast (and to me, much better) music library. With stoked, right off the bat, you don't have to worry about the statistics of your player or board unlike SW where your character sucks until you play a hundred hours to get enough money to get a great board. But also on that note, you can improve your character throughout the game depending on how you do your tricks! If you like to just focus on one trick at a time, you get more advanced grabs. If you like to go nuts and do flip upon flip you get spin/flip speed upgrades.

And besides character development, the game play is awesome. Every mountain in the game, is a wild mountain full of trees, rocks and powder, so unlike SW, there is nobody else on the entire mountain, and no groomed runs. And the five mountains are ENORMOUS!! And you can go anywhere you want to, on any run. And once you have the high score on all the runs, you get to fly the helicopter around to drop off anywhere. Total freedom! Controls are more like Stake, where you have to flick the joystick to jump, opposed to SW where you just pull the right trigger to jump. And there are 4 different viewpoints that you can control your character from.

These are just some of the wonderful features of this insanely addictive game. I've been playing about 14 hours now, and am still loving it! If you seriously like snowboarding this is the game to get!
