Starship Troopers can be either loved or hated by players.

Starship Troopers is possibly a game with a great idea. There's stuff to like (and not to) in the game.

First off is the gameplay. Its just like your average first-person shooter game. You shoot enemies that are attacking while trying to accomplish your mission through certain ways. Some missions require you to defend an outpost or a certain person while others are making you go find one of your lost comrades. There's some nice variety of objectives and the games mission is quite long. The multiplayer mode of the game was fun but it isn't working anymore. The one thing to like in the game is the amount of enemies that attacks. There's lots of them at certain parts of the game and its quite a neat feature. However, it can also be frustrating when your low on ammo and surrounded. Some enemies themselves are unbalanced, being hard to kill while doing a lot of damage to you. Thankfully however, you have a shield that will regenerate when you avoid getting damaged for several seconds. You might notice that there is some small horror aspect in the game but they aren't scary at all.

The AI of the game can be considered stupid. Well, mostly for your allies since they just follow you around or stand in one spot shooting enemies while getting attacked without running or going for cover.

For the story of the game, its about you (being a marauder) and your allies against the bugs who have taken over a planet. You are tasked to help the army on trying to take back the planet. There's nothing really to like about the story and there's not much story development either on most of the first missions of the game.

Next one is the graphics. I have mixed reactions of the graphics of Starship Troopers. One nice thing about is the enemies and environment looks nicely detailed. The shadows and lighting looks nice including the weapons in the game. However, nearly all of the characters you encounter in the game have horrible looking faces except for the Psi-Ops commander you will be protecting in some missions and your own pilot. Also, some of the fire, explosions, and smoke doesn't look really that good. Also, the regular enemies animation when they aren't close to you look extremely old (or horrible). The animation of the game itself aren't that nice, except for your enemies.

The next aspect is the sound. You can consider the sound better than the graphics. The music and voice acting are actually quite good though at certain times, they sound horrible, especially for your operator who constantly talks to you through your suit. However, the sound of guns firing and the noise your enemy makes are fitting for the game. Also, the music is quite good and a fits of the game's atmosphere.

Being that there isn't much people online and that it has been taken offline, there's not much replayability left of the game. There are several difficulties of the mission that you can go through to finish the game but its can be boring to go through the whole game again unless your up for it.

Again, like what I said, there's stuff to love or hate within the game. If your a fan of the movie, then you'll probably enjoy it. If not, then you might hate it.
