It's free, that is it's best feature.

User Rating: 3.5 | Starport: Galactic Empires PC
Stay away from this game. Starport GE at the onset is quite a bit of fun. You get to fly your little fighter/transport around a massive galaxy ferrying people around and trading commodities in a simple buy low sell high trade market. The most troubling part of the game is establishing colonies which are key in generating income to use in the game. I spent no less than 10 hours building and fortifying a colony, only to have a Veteran invade it and waste absolutley everything I had accomplished. It was as if I had not played at all. The game makes it VERY difficult to gain a foothold. You gain experience slowly and loose that experience almost instantaneously when you are PK'd. Along the lines of experience is also reputation, it is very confusing. You gain a positive reputation by doing good deeds and lose reputation by doing bad deeds. The higher level players seem to get no penalty for PK'ing you, but you receive a massive penalty for PK'ing when you are starting out. Upgrading your ship is a nice feature, but that aspect is skewed as well. The veteran players have access to almost invulnerable ships, while you run cowering through the galaxy in MUCH weaker ships. Even the most expensive ships available to the newbie that saves up loads of cash gets walked over. After writing this review and rehashing my experience, I am changing my rating. Even though it is free, it is not worthy of my time. Go pay for a game and get some satisfaction.
