The Bottom Line:
"Amazing"
I would first like to say that i have been very thorough before i have thought of reviewing this game.
This game has been the best launch that i have ever experienced with an MMO. I am not saying this game has it's faults, but i will get to that later. They have very little gamebreaking bugs in this game which is a very positive thing.
Bioware has spent over 5 years making this game, and it shows in the storytelling, gameplay, animation, music, sound, graphics and excellent music.
I will start off with the gameplay. The gameplay core is what most mmo players are used to. Yes it doesn't have auto-attack, but it still is what is basic to the mmo genre. What makes this so special? It's not anything ground breaking, but they have refined it so well that it is really fun to look at. It also feels more real than all mmo's i have played earlier. The sound of getting your lightsaber out and hitting an opponent sounds fantastic. The animations are very well made, though i still would have liked something more there, it's still pretty well made. In short term it's well made, makes you feel engaged in the battle, sounds great, but is nothing revolutionary. You still do regular quests as other mmo's
The music is very well made, with hours upon hours with great new composing with also the known soundtracks of the Star Wars Universe.
The graphics are well made and it fits with the style they have chosen. Some might complain that it's not good enough, but it feels like it should. Nothing ever feels out of place and they didn't cut corners anywhere. They stuck to this type of style all the way.
The storytelling is groundbreaking in the mmo genre, there is no other game that i have played with this huge of story in a game. Every class has a great story. I have played most of them, and all so far have been very well written. There are choices that have an impact, and i suspect in future storylines that many of these choices will help or come back to haunt you. Some of them already do in the story, but i am guessing they will continue with expansions in the future. Wether you go light, dark or neutral. There is something there for everyone if you like the Star Wars lore and storytelling. Most of the stories are for all, but the class story is only for your class, and is very much repeatable if you want to know the outcome of the different decisions you made.
Crewskills are also a new feature that has been very well made. The player can choose 3 crew skills, where you can craft things for yourself. The great part about this is, you aren't dependant on anyone else to get a crystal, gem, etc to get your weapon. You can get it all by yourself.
End game content is there and is better than most games at launch. There is enough to do after the player has leveled to 50. With raids, pvp and flashpoints to do.
This game has a lot of singleplayer components, you don't have to group up a single time to reach 50. This can be a pro and a con when leveling. You get social points when teaming up, which grants the player special gear when you reach a certian social level. This is a great insentive for players to group up and experience the game together.
PVP at this point has its errors, but it is far from broken. You can not que up for the Warzone you want to, but get qued up for a random one instead. The game is pretty well balanced. There are some classes that can be fixed on, but they will do that in the future. It is still fun to go shoot lightining at a jedi or cut evil siths down with your lightsaber.
I am very fond of this game at this point. It has some faults, bugs and glitches. This is why i don't give it a 10. But it is far from game breaking in any regards. This game is great if you like the mmo genre and if you really like storytelling you will really enjoy this game. If you don't like storytelling there is enough of content to keep you busy
