The F2P restrictions aren't "ridiculous." They're draconian, perhaps, but unlike every other F2P MMO I've played tOR is first and foremost a subscription-based game. It has a F2P option, but it is not a F2P model.
Of course it's a F2P model.
It's the same model as Tera, LotRO and others have, except more restricted.
The argument you have to make to have this not sound like the pure-and-holy-righteous-anger-of-the-internets is why the F2P restrictions are bad for EA.
At this point F2P costs EA money and they get nothing in return but warm bodies on the servers. Warm bodies are good from a standpoint of keeping subscribers happy (dead servers make people leave) but EA is only interested in F2P players as a means to an end - they are not paying customers.
So long as the servers remain tolerably populated, there is no incentive for EA to improve the F2P service.
Whether that's "unfair" is utterly irrelevant, EA has no obligation to the F2P players except the reputation of the company, and that reputation is fair to poor at best right now so it can't go much lower on some scattered whining that the free handouts aren't generous enough.
I don't have to make arguments for EA, I make arguments for why the F2P is very restricted and why I believe people calling people complaining about the F2P "entitled" are fools.
No one expects EA to change it's policy, it's not what I was asking either.
I'm just stating it's ridiculous, compared to what others offer in the same range.
In other words, if you don't agree, leave us to our whining? Now there's a good argument.
Have you seen the topic title? This thread was made to address the F2P restrictions, people complaining about the complaints are in the wrong topic.
You could make a topic praising the F2P.

You don't make sense. You're saying, "I want everything and I want it for free!" They're saying: "Here, enjoy the story but if you want to do everything, please subscribe!" I can certainly understand WANTING everything for free, but expecting everything for free is lunacy. And with the exception of making some specific perks take a little longer to get, they're F2P model is the same as others so quit your whining.
Nice strawman! Where did I say I want everything for free?
My argument, and that of pretty much everyone else disagreeing with you, is not that we want everything for free, it's that the restrictions are ridiculous.
There are three times as many restrictions in this game then in the other MMO's with a F2P model.
It's nowhere near the same.
Claiming that it is, is a lie.
