SWBoPC flat out rocks. Five bangin' games for $40 is a steal!

User Rating: 9.5 | Star Wars: The Best of PC PC
Star Wars Best Of PC is one of those things that I believe more PC publishers should be doing; taking great titles from previous generation consoles and bringing them to the PC. Often times, great console titles aren't compatible with the next-gen hardware: leaving great titles either undiscovered or no longer enjoyed by many gamers. PC game publishers can save these titles and MAKE A HEAFTY PROFIT, considering there's NO DEVELOPMENT COSTS, by putting them on a platform that is usually backward compatible. First off, Star Wars Battlefront-a title that PS2/XBox owners fell in love with the instant it debuted. Play it and the campaign, multi player and Instant Action modes will win you over quickly-despite the fact that the character types don't offer much stretegic diversity (cool points to Pandemic). Then there's Knights of the Old Republic, probably one of the greatest RPGs ever made (kudos to BioWare). Next up to bat is Jedi Knight 2:Jedi Outcast, a fairly good story mode and bangin' multi player mode more than justify its presence (thank Raven Software). Republic Comando, Empire At War and a 14 day trial of Star Wars Galaxies round out the already stellar package. Republic Comando won me over despite the fact that I initially thought it would be all swagger and no substance. I'll be damned..it rocked. It probably won't beat out Counter Strike nor Unreal in popularity, as they've already cultivated a global following, but it gives Star Wars fans a damn good squad based FPS. Hell, it might win over a few non-Star Wars buffs like myself (I like some Star Wars games and the movies entertain me, but I'm not a hardcore fan-though my kid brother alias "Darth Yella'" is). I'm a freak and a geek, just not a Star Wars geek. All said, fans of Star Wars and non-fans alike will dig it.
