A solid game with just a couple minor flaws.

For years I wanted and n64, and finally a couple summers ago, my uncle found one at a garage sale for me. One of the main reasons I ever wanted an n64 was because of this game. I finally got my hands on Shadows of the Empire and after a few weeks I finally managed to beat it tonight! It was a very solid game. There weren't a lot of levels in the game, but they more than made up for that by the sheer length of some of them. Plus, if you wanted to beat the game properly by collecting all of the challenge points in each level, then you'd have to take at least a few stabs at each level before you could move on. The only flaws I found were, first, some of the vehicular levels were a little clumsy, especially the swoop bike level. However, once you get used to the controls it's much easier to manage. This was back in the day before the first Rogue Squadron game came out, so vehicular Start Wars games hadn't quite been perfected yet. The other glitch I found was the darkness involved in some of the levels. If you were inside ships or buildings, it was often hard to find your way to hidden doors and what not simply because it was so dark. Other than that, this was a very well put together game with good graphics for the time, decent game play, and it was definitely a lot of fun, especially for a Star Wars nut like myself.
